GreenAware® is a sustainable, environmentally friendly, high-quality green product line. We are specialized in biodegradable and compostable food service packaging and disposable products for use in hospitals, corporate cafeterias, universities, restaurants, schools, homes etc. All GreenAware products are made from a renewable resource - Bagasse, the dry fibrous residue left once sugarcane has been pressed for juice. As with our takeaway boxes, these plates and bowls are pressed into shape in a high-heat, high-pressure process. The result is an economic and sturdy selection of tableware which is more rigid in service than paper plates or bowls. These products are naturally compostable  and suitable for hot, wet and oily foods, offering superior performance to paper or EPS equivalents.

Born out of a desire to provide eco-friendly alternatives to traditional single-use packaging, the GreenAware team is passionate about how our products can transform your home or business offering by using renewable, sustainable solutions.

As a premier sustainable packaging solutions company in India, we address the need for environmentally responsible disposable packaging solutions – from events catering to retail food packaging – and we strive to offer value while doing so.

Q: What is Bagasse?

Bagasse is bi-product of Sugarcane fiber which is left after the juice has been extracted from the sugarcane. Bagasse plates and bowls are pressed in a high-heat, high-pressure process. Since sugarcane is a renewable plant, its bi-product, bagasse, is a great raw material to make products including tableware products like bowls, plates, clamshells, containers etc.

Q: What are the benefits and unique features of bagasse products?

Bagasse products are 100% biodegradable and compostable. Bagasse products are natural fiber products and it biodegrades within 30-60 days. When bagasse products degrade, they provide natural ingredients back to the environment since they are made from natural, organic and renewable materials. Bagasse products are perfect alternatives to petroleum based Styrofoam and plastic products which take thousands of years to degrade.

Also Bagasse products are heat tolerant and can even be put in the microwave or the freezer. As with paper, extremely hot food might cause sugarcane to lose some of its strength, but it is one of the best compostable food service materials that can handle hot temperatures.

Bagasse products hold liquids well and  they are grease and cut resistant. With very hot liquid, bagasse products may be more likely to loose strength or perspire after a certain period of time.

Q: Are sugarcane (bagasse) products oven safe?

Bagasse products can tolerate heat up to 180°C. So, they are oven safe ONLY up to 180°C. We do not recommend that our products be used in ovens with extremely hot temperature.

GreenAware provides a full range of sustainable food-packaging solutions that are made from abundant and renewable resources such as bagasse fibre. We encourage you to step away from traditional packaging by switching to our future friendly packaging and help us to 'Serve and Conserve'
